Happy Holidays: A Showcase of My Fall Custom Orders

As the holiday season ends, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the creative projects that have filled my workshop this fall. Custom orders bring a unique challenge and joy, allowing me to craft pieces that fit individual tastes and needs. This post shares some highlights from the past few months, showcasing the variety and detail that go into each order. Whether you’re looking for inspiration or curious about the process, these examples offer a glimpse into the work behind the scenes.

Unique Designs for Every Client

Each custom order starts with a conversation. Understanding what the client wants helps me design something truly personal. This fall, many requests focused on seasonal themes and warm, earthy tones. For example, one client wanted panels that reflected a feeling of Italy. I created a design that I thought felt Italian...ish and worked well as booth dividers in the restaurant, they feel both functional and decorative.

Another panel was a custom transom meant to represent the northern lights over Moberly Lake. BC. The client lives on a hill overlooking the lake with this wonderful view. With a little artistic license this is what I created.

Crafting with Attention to Detail

The success of custom orders depends on attention to detail. Every cut, start to finish is carefully planned and executed. Here are some examples of some smaller projects that were undoubtedly under someone's Christmas trees this year.

Sharing the Joy of Handmade Gifts

Custom orders are more than just products; they are stories and memories in the making. Giving or receiving a handmade item feels special because it reflects thought and effort. This fall, I’ve enjoyed seeing how my work becomes part of people’s holiday traditions.

family equals love

This year was awesome because family from across the world came home for Christmas. My son and his family flew in from Australia to experience a cold, snowy Canadian Christmas. The kids had a blast in the snow and dealt with the cold like champs. Sadly, my daughter and her family couldn't make it because their little one, Frankie, caught the measles just days before they were supposed to come. Boo us.

Here's to an incredibly happy New Year and all the best for an amazing 2026! 🎉

Cheers,

Dorri
